This 3 day certificated First aid at work training course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces to become a confident first aider at work. Giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.
The First Aid at Work (FAW) course is designed for workplaces which are regarded high risk ( e.g. engineering, manufacturing etc. ) and workplaces that may have staff with varying underlying health conditions (heart problems, diabetes anaphylaxis, high blood pressure, etc). The content and delivery provide comprehensive training for those who are required to be the designated first aider within their workplace.
This course contains the following topics :-
- Asthma
- Head injuries
- Health and safety (first aid) regulations
- Low blood sugar
- Poisoning
- Stroke
- Resuscitation (adult CPR)
- Seizures (adult)
- Severe allergic reaction
- Shock
- Bleeding (minor and severe)
- Bone, muscle and joint injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Choking
- Chest pains (including heart attack)
- Eye injuries
- Fainting
- Choking (adult)
- Spinal injuries
- Unresponsive casualty
Course duration
1 day (7 hours excluding lunch and breaks)
Maximum 12 delegates depending on facilities
